Christmas Island Detention Centre:

J and D Rigging was contracted to provide labor for the structural steel and precast panel erection for the major upgrade to the Christmas Island Immigration reception and processing centre.

The mammoth project costing the government an estimate 250 million dollars and taking around 2 years to complete is capable of housing some 800 people

Townsville Women’s Prison:

J and D Rigging was involved in the construction of the new Women’s Prison. The state of the art centre provides excellent learning and training facilities for women, even providing an area for women to be accommodated with small children.

Mulgrave River at Gordonvale

The Sany 100 tonne crawler is primarily used on bridge and road infrastructure projects.

Recently the crane has been used in the construction of a bridge over the Mulgrave River at Gardenvale, about 20 kilometres north of Cairns.

Ring Road Project, Woodlands to Veals Road, Port Access Road and Homestead

J and D Rigging have also provided cranes and labour in the upgrade of the Ring Road Project, Woodland to Veals upgrade and is currently working on the Port Access Road upgrade. Cranes and manpower were also provided in the recent 43hr shutdown to erect a new railway bridge at Homestead.

St Lawrence

We are currently working at St Lawrence on another major bridge and road project providing 3 cranes and operator on this site.

James Cook University Upgrade:

Upgrades were carried to JCU in providing a new modern lecture theatre and pharmacy centre.

Hamilton Island Yacht Club:

This impressive structure in another recent project undertaken by the company.

This iconic Yacht club offers world class facilities for booties from all over the globe.

Woolworths:

Construction of a major cold storage shed at Mt St Johns.

Dairy Farmers Football Stadium:

The stadium has undergone two upgrades in recent times, J and D Rigging have been involved in the steel erection on both occasions.

Parkview Dalgery/Altitude Appartments:

Cranage and labor was provided to erect precast panels and assist the tower crane in the construction of this apartment block in the heart of Townsville.

V8 Supercars:

The first year in Townsville was an overwhelming success.

J and D Rigging were proud to be a part of this prestigious event, erecting fencing and barricades along the track as well as fabricating several vital structures to help make the event the success it was.

Our experienced crew and frannas were on hand to deal with any on track incidents to ensure minimum delays.

Willows Shopping Centre:

The expansion of the Willows shopping centre has proved another opportunity for J and D Rigging fabricate steelwork and erect both these and panels in major upgrade of this Shopping Centre.

Lavarack Barracks:

Over the last 2 years J and D Rigging have been involved heavily in the major upgrade of facilities at Lavarack Barracks. Provided a cranes, machinery and man power to construct and erect numerous building on this Military base.

Linea Park:

Commercial office blocks are currently being erected by J and D Rigging at this site

Stanley Place Taxation Building:

Precise skill and experience were required to lift 2 new airconditioning units weighting 7 tonnes each up a distance of over 50 metres to the top level of this building and transfer them through a tight opening.

Karumba:

J & D Rigging carried out work on the Karumba Port Stockpile Shed upgrade. As well as maintenance & shut down work on the plant over a 2 year period.

The company was also involved in carrying out the maintenance & refurbishment on the Wunma Vessel which transports the ore off the mainland. The vessel had to be abandoned at sea when cyclone Larry hit the Gulf. The Wunma was eventually towed to Weipa for these repairs.
